Surface Pro 7 Gets May 2022 Firmware Update

The May 2022 Firmware updates for the Surface Pro 7 are out. This round of updates is significant, as it improves the performance of the camera, as well as inking with the Slim Pen 2.

There are a total of 13 different updates that will show up for you in Windows Update on Surface Pro 7 devices running Windows 10 May 2020 Update version 20H1, or greater. We’ve included these for you below. Overall, though, the updates improve camera performance and stability and resolves a system bug check. It also improves Surface Dock 2 reliability and latency with the Surface Slim Pen 2.

  • Surface – Extension – 6.8.137.0 (Surface Dock 2 Firmware Update – Extension)
  • Surface – Extension – 3.331.137.0 (Surface Touch Pen Processor – Human Interface Devices)
  • Intel Corporation – System – 42.18362.3.7417 (Surface Camera Rear – System devices)
  • Surface – Extension – 42.18362.3.7417 (Surface Camera Rear – Extension)
  • Intel Corporation – System – 42.18362.3.7417 (Surface Camera IR -System devices)
  • Surface – Extension – 42.18362.3.7417 (Surface IR Camera Front – Extension)
  • Intel Corporation – System – 42.18362.3.7417 (Surface Camera Front – System devices)
  • Surface – Extension – 42.18362.3.7417 (Surface Camera Front – Extension)
  • Intel Corporation – System – 42.18362.3.7417 (Intel(R) Imaging Signal Processor -System devices)
  • Intel Corporation – System – 42.18362.3.7417 (Intel Camera – Control Logic -System devices)

As usual, these firmware updates roll out in phases, so you might not see them right away on your end. If you don’t see it, you’ll get it eventually, or you can trigger a manual download from Microsoft’s website.
