Lumia Teases An Announcement About Affordable Phones – onmsft.com

Lumia 530

A question has been posed to the Lumia fan base. “How much goes into a super-affordable Lumia?” The question appears in a Lumia conversations post teasing an announcement that will happen tomorrow (March 19th) at 8am GMT or as they call it “UK time”.

There are no other details included in the post so we’re left here to speculate for the rest of the day. It’s recently been announced that the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL will be launched in the UK so any announcement of them wouldn’t be earth shattering but could be the direction they are going in.

There’s a chance that there is yet another low or midrange Lumia being added to their line up but between the cheap and adorable Lumia 435 already being available in the UK, the Lumia 535 being relatively new, the Lumia 640 and 640 XL coming soon, the Lumia 735, and the ‘affordable flagship’ Lumia 830 there isn’t much room left.

I just received a Lumia 435. First impressions: IT’S SO CUTE.

There’s also a chance that the announcement is quite literally about what goes into an affordable flagship and is some sort of demonstration or explanation of their lower priced phones. We’ll have more details after tomorrow’s announcement.
