New York Times Crossword Universal Windows App Gets An Update, Now Featuring More Than 9,000 Puzzles – onmsft.com

New York Times Crossword universal Windows app gets an update, now featuring more than 9,000 puzzles

According to a recent post on Blogging Windows, The New York Times Crossword app for Windows and Windows Phone got an update that now includes over 20 years worth of puzzles, dating back to 1993. Now, you have access to over 9,000 puzzles to test your crossword-solving prowess. The New York Times Crossword is free to download and you can use it across any one of your Windows devices.

All users get free access to The New York Times’ daily puzzle, plus you can archive for up to 7 days’ worth of puzzles to try to solve at your convenience. If you want full access to all the puzzles dating back to 1993, you will need to subscribe to the New York Times’ Crossword for $6.95 a month. It seems like a hefty monthly price tag, but for the crossword aficionado, it may be worth the price. 

The New York Times Crossword app for Windows and Windows Phone offers a great deal of fun features, including:

  • Daily Puzzle – Enjoy the daily New York Times puzzle 
  • Mini Puzzle – a short, easy crossword puzzle for when you don’t have a lot of time on your hands
  • Pen – If you have a Surface (and the Surface Pen), you can solve crosswords by writing directly on the puzzle, as if you were completing the crossword right from a New York Times” newspaper
  • Past Puzzles – monthly subscribers enjoy all of the over 9,000 puzzles from The New York Times archives
  • Modern Puzzle Features – solve crossword puzzles that have new tricks like underlined or highlighted squares and other crossword tricks
