Lenovo has made a name for itself in the PC market. The company is holding Lenovo Tech World, a global technology innovation event in Beijing, which will kick off tomorrow. Ahead of the event, the company introduced three new consumer laptops, Lenovo Z41, Lenovo Z51 and the Ideapad 100, which offer a decent set of specifications as well as a budget-friendly price tag.
“We’ve created the new Lenovo Z41, Z51 and ideapad 100 laptops specifically for customers who want simple and functional design,” said Mr. BAI Peng, vice president and general manager, Lenovo Notebook Business Unit, PC Group. “Because our customers are diverse, our products are not ‘one size fits all.’ Our three new laptops offer customers the choice to select the one that’s right for them – two specialized for multimedia and one all-rounder.”
The Lenovo Z41 and Z51 comes in multiple configurations with two different screen sizes: 14 and 15-inch, both rocking a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels. The laptops are suitable for consumers looking for a decent laptop with an up to Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal HDD or SSHD.
There’s Dolby surround sound, JBL stereo speakers, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, HDMI-out, 4-in-1 card reader, Audio Combo jack and ships with Windows 8.1 Update as its operating system. As far as the battery life is concerned, there’s a 41 WHr battery which can offer users with up to four hours of battery time — which isn’t too impressive, but is still good enough for a normal consumer, and yes, the real world usage may vary depending on the user but this is just a rough estimate. As for the graphics, the Lenovo Z41 comes with either an Integrated Intel, or up to AMD R7-M360, while the Lenovo Z51 features an Integrated Intel, or up to AMD R9-M375.
Coming over to the Lenovo Ideapad 100 series, the laptop is an extremely budget-friendly offering from the company, and a Chromebook competitor. It also comes in 14 and 15-inch screen sizes boasting a resolution of 1,366 by 768 pixels resolution and Intel Bay Trail processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 500 GB of HDD. The graphics are handled by the Intel Integrated Graphics. Customers can also get up to 128GB of SSD storage as well as a 30 WHr battery, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, HDMI-out, and Windows 8.1 as its operating system.
The 14-inch Lenovo Z41 and 15-inch Lenovo Z51 laptops will be available in June and can be purchased directly from Lenovo’s website, starting at $499. The new Lenovo Z51 laptop with optional Intel RealSenseTM 3D camera comes with an Intel® Core™ i5 processor and 8GB memory, but this version is going to cost you a little higher, starting at $599.
As for the Lenovo Ideapad 100 14 and 15-inch notebooks, they start at $249 and will be available from the company’s website from June. The laptops looks like a very nice offering considering the price tag accompanying it.
