Lenovo Y70 Touch

Lenovo has announced two new devices at IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin, comprising of the Y70 Touch, a 17-inch touch-based gaming laptop and the Erazer X315, a power yet affordable gaming desktop.

Lenovo Y70 Touch is a laptop designed to meet the gaming needs of users, and powerful enough to run most of the high-end games it seems. Most manufacturers seems to make sure their laptops are lightweight and easy to carry, but it seems Lenovo didn’t focus much on its weight as they wanted to give users a real high-end laptop which weighs 3.4kgs and measures 422.9 x 290.6 x 25.9mm. The laptop comes with an up 4th generation Core i7 processor with the graphics being handled by NVIDIA GTX — offering users up to 4GB of VRAM.

Lenovo Y70 Touch come with a 17-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with Windows 8.1 as its operating system, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of  SSHD storage with integrated 8GB SSD cache or 512GB SSD storage. On the connectivity side, there are 2 USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0, a 4in1 card reader, HDMI and an audio combo jack, Lenovo touts the laptop can provide a battery time of up to five hours which looks impressive on paper, but we’ll find out more once the laptop hits retail.

Second on the list is the Erazer X315 gaming desktop, which comes with an affordable price tag, but features a very decent set of specifications which should be more than enough for hardcore gamers. There are two options to choose from: A8 and A10. The A8 features slightly lower specifications. The A8 is powered by a quad-core AMD Kaveri A8-7600 clocked at 3.1GHz, AMD Radeon R9 255 with 2GB memory to handle the graphics, 8GB of RAM and 1TB SSD with 8GB SSHD. On the other hand, the A10 model is powered by a quad-core 3.7GHz AMD Kaveri A10-7850K, AMD Radeon R9 260 with 2GB memory, 16GB of RAM and 2TB HDD.

As far as the price and availability is concerned, Lenovo Y70 Touch will hit retail in October carrying a price tag of $1,299. The Erazer X315 will start shipping in November in North America starting at $599.
