Microsoft continues to show off their Windows 10 Anniversary Update through the use of blogs and videos. Just recently, they highlighted exactly what the Windows 10 build 14393 could do for Xbox application developers.
The Windows Dev Center hosted an online event yesterday that showed off Xbox app development with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update SDK. The seven hour long event went into more detail on how to get started with Xbox development, including XAML and Web applications. Towards the end of the broadcast, they focused on making these apps on the Universal Windows Platform and opened up the panel to a full Q&A from viewers.
The event covered much of what you need to know to get started making Xbox apps such as:
- What’s new in the Anniversary Update SDK and how to get started with app development for Xbox One
- How to get started developing apps using both XAML and Web technologies
- How to design and create impressive TV experiences
- How to publish your app to the Store and make it available for over 350 Million Windows devices including Xbox
The event broadcast works best when you can go step by step with the explanations. Be sure to have Visual Studio Community 2015 and the Anniversary Update SDK prepared in advance. Although, the best part of watching the event after it was already aired is the fact you can pause and take things at your own pace. It’s also useful to have Developer Mode enabled on your Xbox One.
