Leaked screenshots show off Hyperlapse app for Windows Phone

Recently, we learned about a new app from Microsoft Research called Hyperlapse, which features new video smoothing/stabilization technology, was being internally tested for Windows Phone. Now, new screenshots of this app have leaked onto the internet.

In August, it was suggested that this technology would be ideal for first-person videos such as those shot with the popular GoPro camera. Microsoft Research explained at the time, “We present a method for converting first-person videos, for example, captured with a helmet camera during activities such as rock climbing or bicycling, into hyperlapse videos: time-lapse videos with a smoothly moving camera.”

Screenshots of this app, which is currently in testing internally at Microsoft, have leaked onto the internet courtesy of WindowsBlogItalia. As you can see in the screenshots, the process of recording a hyperlapse looks quite simple. After recording, you can share, save with different speeds, or capture a new video.

We’ll have more on this app once it becomes available to the public. Stay tuned!
