As the release of Windows 10 approaches, Skype is now offering signups for its upcoming service, Skype for Business Preview. The program gives you early access to new Skype for Business features, and businesses will be able to get a sneak peek at what is coming to Skype, test out new features and give Microsoft feedback on how they can improve Skype for Business.
Skype for Business Preview still has a number of bugs and improvements needed before the final build is released to the public. As Skype for Business Preview is pre-release software, not all who sign up will be accepted.
Skype for Business Preview allows you to test out these new features, including Skype Meeting Broadcast, which allows businesses to broadcast a Skype for Business meeting with up to an astounding 10,000 people, who can attend the meeting on almost any device. Meeting broadcast makes it amazingly easy for businesses to give company-wide meetings or perform public webinars. Skype Business Preview allows you to integrate with Bing Pulse and Yammer to include real-time polling and attendee dialog during Skype Meeting Broadcasts.
According to the Skype for Business Preview Blog, if you are interested in taking part in Skype Business Preview, you must meet have a Skype for Business online tenant. Here is the list of features that are available today for Skype for Business Preview, including:
- Organize and produce a new broadcast style meeting for up to 10,000 attendees
- Attendees are able to join and watch the broadcast via any modern browser, on any device
- Attendees are able to rewind, pause and resume playback based on their own schedule without affecting the broadcast
- Attendees can participate in a Bing Pulse and Yammer conversation about the event
