HTC Windows Phone

Nokia announced back at Nokia World that Instagram was coming to Windows Phone in the near future. According to an unofficial source, Instagram for Windows Phone is set to land in the Windows Phone Store sometime in December, which means Instagrammers don’t have long left to wait before you can officially share food images over on your Windows Phone!

Instagram is just one in a number of other apps that are expected to hit Windows Phone in the future. Flipboard recently announced plans to release a Windows Phone version of their app, after the successful launch of their Windows 8.1 app. Windows Phone is still suffering from a rather large lack of apps in its Windows Phone Store. Apps like BBM are still missing, developers just don’t see a need in developing for Windows Phone sadly.

Nawzil on Twitter, who has been behind multiple Windows Phone leaks in the past seems to be positive that Instagram will be landing in December. So as this information comes from an unofficial source, we ask you to take it as a grain of salt.

Update: Nawzil has posted another tweet stating that Instagram for Windows Phone 8 will be arriving sooner than expected. In fact, it will be rolling out in one week!

I was wrong about #InstagramWP release date. But the good news is it’s coming sooner. It’s coming in a week! #Instagram #WindowsPhone
