Following the announcement from earlier today that Cortana was being made available in France, Italy, Germany, and Spain for Developer Preview users, Microsoft has rolled out a new Developer Preview build (8.10.14219.341). This update likely introduces bug fixes and other minor improvements, along with Cortana in these new languages. Here is what Microsoft said earlier this morning:
“When we introduced Cortana as a beta as part of Windows Phone 8.1 in the U.S. this past spring, she generated worldwide interest and excitement which was amazing to see. With the Windows Phone 8.1 Update we announced last summer, we extended Cortana’s availability as a beta into China and the U.K. Since then, we have been working very hard to continuously deliver updates including making her available in more languages. Later today, we will begin rolling out an update to the Windows Phone Developer Preview Program that makes Cortana available in France, Italy, Germany, and Spain as an “alpha”.
Head over to Settings > Phone Updates to snag this update. Remember, you must be enrolled in the Windows Phone Preview for Developers program in order to snag this update. Install the update and let us know if you notice any new improvements or fixes. Enjoy!
Update: Looks like this build adds a quick toggle switch for Cellular Data to the Action Center. This allows you to quickly disable your Cellular Data with ease!
