The BBC iPlayer is your portal into BBC radio on your phone; it gives you live access to all BBC radio stations, hundreds of on-demand programs, and lets browse video and audio clips.
The Windows Phone app has recently been updated to version 1.4.0.1 and includes the following updates: dynamite playlist deprecated, added support for pre-roll audio/video, app cross-linking added, echo stats updated, transitions between pages altered at BBC’s request to show page loading behind an overlay, removed last played episodes from media hub, fixed network connection error messages to give delay in retry, and lastly general bug fixes and performance improvements.
BBC has been hard at working making sure to stay with the times. This week they also announced that the ‘catchup window’ for shows would be expanded to 30 days for UK viewers. They also expanded the viewing and listening window of the iPlayer Radio to a full month. You can read more about this here.
The improvement you will most likely notice is faster playback due to the ‘dynamite playlist deprecated.’ You can download the app via the link below.
