Project Dwarka

Press Play, the Copenhagen based game developer acquired by Microsoft in 2012, is looking for help in developing its latest game.  Specifically, the makers of games like Kalimba and Max: Curse of the Brotherhood have been working on three new concepts, and they’re asking enthusiasts to vote for which project they should pursue:

We have been doing some early experiments on three different concepts and we want the community to help choose the one that we will take forward to the next stage of development. Please check them out, provide feedback on them, and vote by September 1st. We will announce the winner here on September 4th. After that, we will work together to develop the concept into our most ambitious game yet.

The team released an introductory video announcing the rather interesting way to move forward:

Each of the three concepts comes from its own unique perspective on gaming:

Project: Dwarka
Team up with a group of friends and become a band of legendary dwarven treasure hunters, exploring a procedurally generated underworld filled with gold and monstrosities.

Project: Karoo
A physics based multiplayer construction game set in an open world.

Project: Knoxville
A 3rd person multiplayer action-survival game in which players must both work together and against each other.

After the vote has taken place and a winner has been chosen, Press Play plans to continue the interaction, letting gamers in on early shared builds, and even letting them in on development meetings via Skype, to go along with the more traditional forum activity, lots of video, and frequent blog updates.

You can explore the projects in greater detail, and then sign up with your Xbox account and vote for your favorite!
