These are the top five trending apps in the Windows Store as of April 17th

\n

On a weekly basis, we provide our readers with the top five paid and top five free apps available in the Windows Store. But there is one section of the Windows Store we hardly ever cover – the Trending section. Let’s take a look at the top five apps that are trending in the Windows Store as of April 16th in the United States (your region might be showcasing something completely different).

\n

Typing Lessons ($3.99) – this app is currently the top app in the trending section. “Learn typing in less than a week. This app will provide you the most essential lessons of typing. It’ll show you where the fingers to be placed on the keyboard follow with guide lines etc,” the app description reads. If you are looking for an excellent app to help you with your typing skills, this app does the job.

\n

My Study Life (free) – this free app is the perfect planner for students, as well as teachers. You can organize your study life, receive a customized view of your day coming up, keep track of your exams, and much more.

\n

“My Study Life is a planner for students, teachers and lecturers designed to make your study life easier by storing your classes, tasks (assignments, homework, revision) and exams in the cloud making your study life available wherever you are. My Study Life isn’t just your average school planner, calendar, diary or todo list. Classes, tasks and exams are integrated to show not only the information for the class, task or exam but also related information such as the tasks due for a class,” the app description reads.

\n

Memorize Scriptures (free) – This is the perfect free app for those who enjoy reading the Bible. With this app, you can easily help yourself when it comes to memorizing scriptures. You can choose any scripture from the Bible and even cover each word to help you memorize them.

\n

“As it’s name suggests, Memorize Scriptures is a simple app to help in committing scripture verses to memory. Choose a verse and begin memorizing. You can tap on individual words to hide them or hide all at once to test your progress. The app includes access to the King James Version of the Bible and the rest of the LDS scripture canon,” the app description reads.

\n

Pocket Sheep (free) – “They are tiny. They are cute. They need your help. Be a great shepherd! Guide a flock of tiny sheep through 30 beautiful hand-drawn levels – use your fingers to keep the sheep together and steer them to safe pastures. It’s the simple, smooth and relaxing multi-touch game casual gamers will love. Watch the sheep try to stick together, but panic when crowded. They’re scared of your fingers and dangerous volcanoes and they wander around and get into trouble if left unattended,” the app description reads.

\n

The Gunstringer (free) – this awesome game requires you to utilize touch and tilt controls (or mouse and keyboard) to sprint down 15 story levels with boss battles along with 3 infinite worlds. There is also a level driven story mode to keep you on your toes.

\n

“Hit the trail at a dead run as you race through three sprawling Wild West locations and 15 levels as the Gunstringer, the legendary skeleton cowboy marionette bent on vengeance. But as the ol’ saying goes – if you climb in the saddle, be ready for the ride! Avoid deadly obstacles, take aim in fast-action shootin’ challenges, collect tasty loot, and battle outlaws – all while being pursued by the hands of Hell!” the app description reads.
