Samsung announces a new Ativ Book 9 and ATIV One 7 Curved All-In-One PC

The Consumer Electronics Show is going on in its full force, with OEMs across the globe showcasing their innovative products. Samsung has also made a few PC-related announcements last week, and released the ATIV Book 9 notebook alongside the ATIV One 7 Curved, an all-in-one PC which can offer impressive performance to its users.

Samsung ATIV Book 9 offers top-of-the-line specifications with the latest Intel Core M processor and Intel HD Graphics 5300 so it should be able to run most of the power intensive things you throw at it. The tablet is extremely portable, measuring 11.19 by 8.37 by 0.46 inches and weighs only 2.09 pounds. There’s a 12.2-inch WQXGA display boasting a resolution of 2,560 by 1,600 pixels, up to 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD  to meet all the storage needs. The company mentions it can provide a battery time of up to 10.5 hours and ships with Windows 8.1 as its operating system. There are two USB 3.0 ports, micro HDMI, stereo speakers, and a 720p HD camera.

“Samsung is dedicated to providing the best options for consumers to stay fully connected and productive from anywhere, and the ATIV Book 9 goes above and beyond in meeting that demand for both consumers and professional users,” said Gary Riding, vice president of mobile computing marketing at Samsung Electronics America. “The new Samsung ATIV Book 9 will continue to revolutionize the ultrabook market with a stunning screen, thinner and lighter design, and easy connectivity with other Samsung products.”

Samsung Ativ Book 9 will be available for pre-order from Q1 2015, and starts at $1,199.99.

Samsung Ativ One 7 Curved offers a decent performance to those who are looking for a desktop. The machine features a 27-inch display with a 1080p resolution, Intel Core i5 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 1TB of hard drive. There’s a full HD camera, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports and runs Windows 8.1 64-bit as its operating system. The machine is available in rusty black color, and is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2015 carrying a whopping $1,299 price tag.

“The arched display of the ATIV One 7, along with top-of-the-line multimedia capabilities for rich sound and easy content sharing across devices, make this model stand out from the rest as the ultimate entertainment desktop,” said Gary Riding, senior vice president of mobile computing marketing at Samsung Electronics America. “With the ATIV One 7 Curved, Samsung has created a PC that exceeds consumers’ needs, while offering a stunning design that stands out in any home or small office.”

It also features Samsung’s unique SideSync 3.0 software which give users the ability to receive messages and phone calls from their Samsung handset to the PC. Furthermore, users can also control their smartphone from the PC through SideSync’s sharing mode.

Both devices are available for display at CES 2015 so if you’re in Las Vegas and want to give them a shot, head over to Samsung’s booth, 11906 in Central Hall, from January 6-9.
