The latest entry in the EA Sports NHL series, EA Sports NHL 16 is now out for digital pre-order and pre-download in both a Standard Edition and a special Deluxe Edition.

The pre-order for the Standard Edition of EA Sports NHL 16 features the main game and up to 15 Hockey Ultimate Team Gold Packs while the Deluxe Edition features the same content as the Standard Edition but comes with up to 40 Hockey Ultimate Team Gold Packs.

The main game appears to be identical in both packages but the number of Ultimate Team Gold Packs will vary depending on which version is pre-ordered. As a special incentive for owners of last year’s EA Sports NHL 15 on Xbox One to invest in the new entry in the series, those who pre-order EA Sports NHL 16 in the Xbox Marketplace will receive 10 Hockey Ultimate Team Gold Packs for free. This particular offer will only work if both games have been purchased digitally with the same Xbox Live account.

EA Sports NHL 16 promises to incorporate more innovative gameplay and new features in most its single-player modes. EA recently held a NHL 16’s EA Sports Hockey League beta to test its multiplayer modes which we assumed was a good thing do to the number of games that are released nowadays with bugs that need to be patched on the day of release.

EA Sports NHL 16 will be released on the 15th of September 2015 and gamers will have until midnight EST to place their pre-orders. While downloadable immediately after placing the pre-order, the game will not be playable until one minute past midnight on the day of launch.
