A popular third-party Google Maps app for Windows Phone 8, called Maps+, has received an update over the weekend. The update is minor and bumps the version number to 8.6.8.4. In this new update, we get Waze integration.
Maps+ is a fantastic app that offers offline, turn-by-turn voice guided GPS navigation as well as 3D maps. You can also see live traffic and incidents from the popular Waze service, which was just added to the app in this new update. Waze, for those that did not know, is a popular community-driven service that offers traffic alerts reported by users. Other reports include accidents, traffic jams, speed and police traps. Waze also identifies the cheapest gas station near a user or along their route.
The app also features the ability to tour cities in a 360 degree panorama, as well as take a peek inside restaurants, museums, and more. It’s pretty much like having the entire Google Maps service inside one unofficial third-party app.
