No Man’s Sky, the popular exploration survival game that has been released on Xbox One back in July 2018 is coming to Xbox Game Pass next month. Sean Murray, the founder of indie studio Hello Games made the surprise announcement on Xbox Wire this morning, and it seems that the game will be available on both Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC.
Indeed, the Hello Games founder said today that the PC version of No Man’s Sky will also come to the Windows 10 Microsoft Store next month, which is a major win for Microsoft’s PC gaming ambitions:
It seems like a natural and timely step to announce today that next month, No Man’s Sky will come to Xbox Game Pass, opening up our universe of possibilities to over 10 million Xbox Game Pass members who are just about to start their journey with us.
In addition, we can also announce that next month we’re bringing a Windows 10 PC version of No Man’s Sky to the Microsoft Store. Our PC fanbase has always been among our most active and devoted and we are overjoyed to be able to count Windows 10 PC gamers among them for the first time very soon.
The Microsoft Store on Windows 10 has welcomed many new high-profile games following the launch of Xbox Game Pass for PC, including titles from Square Enix (Yakuza 0, Final Fantasy XV) and Bethesda (Dishonored 2, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus). It’s still lagging behind the Epic Games Store in terms of AAA games, but the addition of No Man’s Sky is quite promising.
Hello Games’ title has enjoyed quite a renaissance since the release of the “Next” update back in 2018, and the developer has been supporting No Man’s Sky with several new free content updates since then. “For those who have already jumped into No Man’s Sky on Xbox One, I want to say thank you for being on this journey with us these past few years. Our small team have many more exciting things to come and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on,” Murray said today.
