HP has introduced its new family of Windows-based Stream laptops, bringing several new features and improvements to the already very affordable notebook range. The new Stream notebooks will be available in 11.6-inch and 14-inch editions, but HP has also announced a Stream 11 Pro targeted at education customers as well as a 11.6-inch Stream x360 model with a touchscreen that can flex in four different positions.

All the new notebooks feature a lighter and slimmer design, and HP has also improved battery life as well as wireless connectivity thanks to new Wi-Fi antennas. Additionally, the notebooks have kept their trademark vibrant color options and HP will also drop the price of select models. HP has not released all the hardware details about it’s new Stream portfolio yet, but here are a few highlights:

- The 11-inch model is 18 mm thin at it’s thinnest point and is 2.75lbs. Light, while the 1inch model is 17.9 mm thin at it’s thinnest point and weighs 3.18 lbs. The 11-inch x360 model will be slightly thicker (19.8mm at it’s thinnest point) but still lighter than the 14-inch model (2.98 lbs light).
- Some models also come with advanced displays – such as an HD touch-enabled display and HD WLED-backlit display with an antiglare screen
- In select regions, the notebooks are offered in an array of vibrant colors – including Aqua Blue, Violet Purple and Snow White for the Stream 11 and 14, and Jack Black as the fourth color option for the x360
- For faster data transfers, the HP Stream includes USB 3.0 among its ports and connections.
- The notebooks feature dual-antenna 802.11 ac 2×2 Wi-Fi for improved wireless connectivity.
- Additionnal features include HP’s TrueVision HD Webcam, DTS Studio Sound
- All models run Windows 10 Home
- Select models of the new Stream notebooks also come with a one-year subscription of Office 365 Personal

The HP Stream 11 notebook will be available at a $199.99 starting price, but HP did not announce release dates for the new Stream laptops yet. However, it did share that the education-targeted HP Stream 11 Pro will be available starting in late September in select countries and this model will come in an additional 4GB/64GB edition.
